Features:
250Fi: For 2015 the host of engine changes witnessed for the 2014 model, which included a new connecting-rod material and design matched to a new piston, featuring ‘bridged box’ construction with altered material densities in high stress areas giving less deflection at high rpm’s for greater performance and durability, matched to a revised DLC coated gudgeon pin, a new clutch basket with a friction reducing coating and new clutch plates, a new oil pump with modifications to the oil galleries, revised ECU settings with mapping changes to suit the new engine characteristics and a new wiring loom, continue on to the 2015 model but with some alterations in key areas. After having another 12 months of testing at the highest levels of competition in the MX and Enduro World Championships the latest updates to the 250Fi engines come from development of the TM Factory Racing Teams. The 2015 engine will continue with the well proven 2014 alterations but now receives a new inlet ducting system, throttle body and air funnel into the venturi to improve air feed for power maximisation, a new oil filter arrangement for greater oil flow, a new exhaust system allowing for greater performance and smoother power delivery all matched to revised ECU settings. These changes maximise power output and efficiency increasing power and torque for a large part of the rev range and these profiles are different for all MX, Enduro, SMR/SMM and SMX variants too. All feature unique engine settings and profiles to give the performance required for each discipline, on the MX and SMX engines are designed to suit the ‘harsher’ nature of race compeition, whilst the Enduro and road going variants benefit from a more ‘relaxed’ profile to give a smother, broader power output better suited to their environments.
450Fi: During 2014 the mighty 450cc engine has once again proven to be a world beater in many disciplines and for latest generation the philosophy was simple, small changes to the engine, larger changes to the chassis. For 2015 the 450cc engine receives ancillary chnages in the form of a new inlet ducting system, a new throttle body and air funnel into the venturi to improve air feed for power maximisation, a new exhaust system allowing for greater performance and smoother power delivery all matched to revised ECU settings, this is linked to a gearbox position sensor connected to the ECU to maximise performance and power delivery for any given gear ratio by altering the fuelling and timing of the fuel injection system. The already immensely powerful and torque laden engine required little in the way of performance increases and simple alterations have just improved its responsiveness at lower rpm’s and facilitated easier starting on the conventional kickstart variants. The 2015 model engine continues to adopt the engine changes which graced the 2014 models and these included a revised connecting-rod matched to a new ‘box bridged’ piston with a DLC coated gudgeon pin, revised fuelling and mapping via the ECU working with revised camshaft durations, a new wiring harness, revised gearbox selector forks and selector barrel and a new clutch basket with a friction reducing coating combined with new fibre plates.
530Fi: The changes for the 2014 model range which included, a new piston design, a new clutch basket with a friction reducing coating combined with new fibre plates all remain for 2015 but with the big addition of TM Racing’s electronic fuel injecton system now being fitted in place of the regular carburettor which has seen a very extensive re-design take place for this large capacity 4-stroke machine. This includes a new inlet ducting system, throttle body and air funnel into the venturi to improve air feed for power maximisation, a new exhaust system allowing for greater performance and smoother power delivery all matched to revised ECU settings and a gearbox position sensor connected to the ECU to maximise performance and power delivery for any given gear ration by altering the fuelling and timing of the fuel injection system.
Chassis: Chassis changes include new chassis geometry with modified front fork rake for increase turn-in, stability and all round ‘lighter’ handling characteristics a longer swing-arm for better bike balance and weight distribution, a new rear shock length (8mm) and revised linkage for better progression and traction in all conditions working with revised suspension settings. The big change in the chassis department is the adoption of the new component layout designed to optimise weight balance, handling and engine performance, this features an intake system over the engine and the positioning of the fuel tank under the seat for a much more balanced machine and lower centre of gravity. Also featuring is a new rear wheel spindle diameter for greater strength and less deflection of the swing-arm, a new triple clamp arrangement with less offset to improve rideabilty of the new chassis layout and weight transferal system, a new air filter for better efficiency of the new intake system ans a new plastic design in a fresh and aggressive style featuring a new seat arrangement and fresh graphics in an Italian theme.
TM Racing ‘Factory’ rear shock absorber, Marzocchi 45mm forks, billet machined aluminium hubs laced to anodised Excel rims, anodised triple clamps with oversize taper handlebar, oversize rear disc with SM 320mm floating front disc with oversize radial pump and caliper, HGS exhaust system, full lighting system EU compliant for road use.
Engine, single cylinder water cooled 4 stroke, double overhead camshafts driving a ‘bucket’ type valve operating system, dry sump with double rotor oil pump for recovery and distribution, forged piston, electric starter with conventional kick.
